From the Annual OC Shark Tournament
Friday, June 14, 2013

For the second year in a row horrible weather has put a damper on the Annual OC Shark Tournament.

But on Friday afternoon the skies cleared and the winds began to calm boosting hope that Saturday and Sunday the weatherman would be correct and the weekend would prove to be not just “fishable” but actually quite nice for the few teams that actually entered this years event. Some other good news arrived on Friday when word came form the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (a major sponsor of the tournament) that despite the low attendance they would still like to promote the Release Division by giving out all of the $12,500 they sponsored as prize money. Combine the Guy Harvey money with that sponsored by Fish Bomb and the OC Shark Tournament, and there is still going to be a healthy chunk of change to give out to anglers who release the most sharks in this year’s event.

Teams can fish both Saturday and Sunday and register as late as Sunday morning.

Currently the division payouts are as follows but will go up as more teams register.
