Mulberry Landing Boat Ramp to reopen April 18 following ramp improvements

Due to weather-related construction delays, access to the Mulberry Landing Boat Ramp on Assawoman Wildlife Area near Bethany Beach will remain closed through Friday, April 17, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today. Mulberry Landing Road has been periodically closed since late March during boat ramp improvements.

Mulberry Landing’s 100-foot wooden bulkhead has been replaced with a new aluminum sheeting bulkhead, and the boat ramp approach and tie-down area has been expanded. The project is expected to be complete, with full access restored, by Saturday, April 18, weather permitting.

This week, Mulberry Landing Road will remain open as far as the turn-off for Sassafras Landing, which is open to launch small boats. Memorial Pond is open for fishing with access by foot. Parking is available along Mulberry Landing Road near the Sassafras Landing Road intersection.

For more information, please call the Sussex County Regional Wildlife Office at 302-539-3160, or the Fisheries Section at 302-739-9914.
